Special Economic Zone of Industrial-Production type "Alabuga"

Special Economic Zone of Industrial-Production type "Alabuga" (SEZ "Alabuga") is situated in the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan nearby town of Elabuga, 25 km from N.Chelny city and 40 km from Nizhnekamsk city.

The area of the SEZ "Alabuga" is 20 sq. km.



The territory of the special economic zone has the developed transport infrastructure. There is international cargo/passenger airport "Begishevo" 20 km from the SEZ, a railway service connecting the zone with large railway junction Agryz (on the line Moscow-Kazan-Agryz-Ekaterinburg-Novosibirsk). On the distance of 0.5 km the federal motorway M7 Moscow-Kazan-Ufa-Chelyabinsk can be reached via a net of hard surface roads. There are river cargo ports in Elabuga, N.Chelny and Nizhnekamsk with a through way to the United deep-water transport system of the European part of Russia.

Enterprises registered in the territory of the special economic zone will be given a number of tax and customs privileges. In particular, it is about the free trade regime, when foreign goods are being placed and used within the territory of SEZ without paying customs dues and VAT, also bans and limitations of economic nature, stipulated according to the legislation of the Russian Federation on regulations of foreign trade activity are not applicable. Goods produced in Russia can be exported without export fee.

Organisations - residents of SEZ will be freed from the property tax for 10 years starting since their property legal registration and from the land tax for 5 years since appearance of their land ownership rights.

Besides residents of the SEZ will be provided the following tax benefits:

- income tax credited to the budget of RT in the amount of 13.5%;

- relief from transport tax, credited to the budget of RT.

Creation and development of hi-tech productions is planned to be located in the SEZ "Alabuga". First of all, it is planned to construct plastics handling productions for ready to use goods to replace the imported analogues. Secondly, it is profitable to use SEZ "Alabuga" for automotive parts production. There is a sound potential and perspectives for other sectors - mechanical engineering, electronics and timber and wood working etc.

To receive the status of the resident of SEZ an investor should get registered with Elabuga region of Republic Tatarstan as legal entity, prepare a business plan with no less than 10 mln. USD of investments, the first year instalment must be as little as 1 mln. USD.
