Performance Measurement: Evidence Based Healthcare Management

CII Institute of quality organized a three-day workshop on "Performance Measurement: Evidence Based Healthcare Management" from 27 Aug to 29 Aug at Banglore. The theme was decided keeping in mind the potential of Indian healthcare developing into a major industry in the global market. India would not be able to stand up to world standards unless there is focus on regulation and processes, which is woefully inadequate at present and there is a need for implementation of quality measures and performance measurement tool in the health industry.

The workshop was facilitated by Ms. Ala Sankaran (MA MSc CPHQ CPHIMS CMQ/OE ACHQ), Senior Consultant, CII Institute of Quality and Director of Excelsior Healthcare Management Consultants (P) Ltd. Performance measurement is concerned with helping individuals and teams achieve their potential and recognize their role contributing goals to the organization. Admiral Dr. V.K.Singh Principal Consultant for NABH Delhi, Director Institute of Health Management Research Delhi and President - Academy of Hospital Administration (AHA) and Mr. S.K.Dutta Principal Counselor CII-Institute of Quality, addressed the inaugural session of the workshop.

Three-day workshop was designed as an interactive platform involving various group exercises and presentation to give an in-depth understanding of the topic. 14 delegates from 8 different hospitals and healthcare organisations including senior personnel from Columbia Asia, Manipal Health Systems, Max Health Care, Grant Medical Foundation, Trichur Heart Hospital, RPM Alliance, Rajeev Gandhi Institute of Chest Disease and Yelemma Dasappa Hospital attended the workshop.
