CII-EXIM Bank Award for Excellence, 2007
There has been two important changes in the Award assessment procedure for this year based on the recommendations given by members of the Award Jury .
- Change in Award categories
- Change in nomenclature for the CII EXIM Bank Award for Business Excellence.
With immediate effect, the following changes shall apply for this years Award assessment:

Revised Categories:
- Business Units
- Operating Units
Eligibility Criteria:
CII EXIM Bank Award for Excellence:
Whole companies or parts of companies run as business units having the following characteristics:

Run as an independent profit centre with a full set of accounts;
- more than 50% of turnover are external to itself and the parent company where one exists
- the unit has a broad range of support functions and policies which it has autonomy over (e.g. HR, Finance, I.T)
In addition, in the case of a business unit, the unit may demonstrate its independence by using a name and brands unique to that of the parent organisation.
CII EXIM Bank Award for Excellence:
Operating units are part of an organisation (parent) and have the following characteristics:
- less than 50% of turnover is external to the parent company
- the unit is dependent on a parent organisation in some areas (e.g. HR, Finance, I.T)
- is self-sufficient enough to be assessed on all nine criteria
