Six Sigma is a highly disciplined process that helps us focuses on developing and delivering near-perfect products and services. It is a focused approach to resolve problems and optimize processes. CII Institute of Quality (CII IQ) plays a key role in enhancing Six Sigma tools and techniques in Indian Industry. The CII six Sigma Black Belt certificate programmes are unique in nature and are designed for bringing in improvements in Indian Industry. A few success stories have begun to evolve and have an impact on Industry in India.

In the Six Sigma technique, each chronic problem in the manufacuring area is identified and taken up as a Project and systematically addressed through the four stages viz. (1) Define (2) Measure & Analyze (3) Improve and (4) Control i.e. DMAIC. In various applications of process improve areas, the DMAIC techniques are applied and fine tuned to suit the requirements of Indian Industry.

To widely share the best practices in Six Sigma and learn the key techniques by successful organisations, CII IQ is organising a National Conference on Six Sigma on 13-14 August 2007 at Bangalore. This Conference proposes to bring together experts in the field of six sigma, academicians and key personnel from Indian Industry to a common platform to gain further knowledge and value.

Prior to this Conference, CII had invited successful case studies adapted by different organisation on the subject of Six Sigma. These case studies are either in manufacturing or transactional processes.

The nature of the projects is either Critical to Quality; Critical to Satisfaction or Critical to Cost. The select projects will be presented by the applicant company during this National Conference. Also, CII will recognize the BEST Three presentations during the National Conference.
