Workshop on Management Quality Improvement Programs in
APO Member Countries, 9-13 July 2007, Japan
The above workshop was jointly hosted by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) -Japan, Asian Productivity Organization (APO), Japan Productivity Center for Socio-Economic Development (JPC-SED).
Objective:
- Enhance current understanding of the roles of the award system and its activities to support "Quality Management" practices among selected member countries
- Understand and appreciate defining key success factors from recipient organizations with regards to "Commitment to management/business excellence" within the Japanese context.
- Conceptualization of common subject areas of interest
Study items:
- Sharing information on practices of implementing and promoting "Management
Excellence Program (MEP) among APO member countries
- Overview of the Japan Quality Award and the practices of MEP in Japan.
- Collaborative activities/ procedure of continuous networking facilitation in the area of MEP
- The administrators, Senior Assessors and officials on management excellence award program joined the workshop from Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and India and Japan. The workshop aimed at mutual learning on implementation and promotion of management excellence program and creating closer network among the administrators.
- From India, Mr. S. K. Dutta, Principal Counsellor from CII Institute of Quality joined the workshop.
