Hindustan Lever to take water purifiers to villages


India's largest consumer product company by turnover, Hindustan Unilever Ltd. plans to launch its water purifier brand 'Pureit' in rural markets. The company is making substantial investments in sales and distribution and advertising and promotions to ramp up its presence in the urban markets. For rural markets, it is planning to tie up with various government agencies and non-profit organizations.

Tata Chemicals' ethanol plant validates claims on sorghum


Tata Chemicals all set to build the first sweet sorghum to ethanol plant in India with Praj Industries to build a fully integrated, commercial scale plant in Nanded. Expected capacity of the plant is about 30,000 litres per day. The plant would generate its own power with the help of biomass generated from the milled stock.
