Workshop on Identification & Control of Critical Quality Parameters

Mr Ram Narayan, Consultant, CII-IQ conducted this programme which was attended by 14 delegates from 8 organizations.
The Learning from this programme included :
- Identification of Functions of the Product
- How to identify the inter-relationships between the sub-systems if the product is an Assembly
- How to identify the CTQ parameters on the Product based on the Functions defined
- How to identify the interrelationship between the product parameters based on the Process design
- Identifying which parameters require product control and which parameters require process control
- Conducting variation study to find out the variation and arriving at the appropriate control method
- Identify the Process controls for those parameters requiring process controls
- Introduction to Problem solving techniques in case the variation is more

10th TPM Facilitators Course
1-4 September, Bangalore |
This course was attended by 20 participants from 14 companies. Mr Rajesh Parim, Principal Counsellor, Mr S Narasimhan, Counsellor and Mr P M Janagiraman, Counsellor from TPM Club India were the faculty for this course.
Participants were exposed to the knowledge of 8 pillars of TPM, cost loss tree, makigami analysis and many more topics. At the end of the course, participants were given the Certificates as In-House Facilitators.
TPM Club has the distinction of having trained 327 in-house TPM Facilitators from 205 companies till date. |

Kaizen Training on Lean Production System by AOTS, Japan
14-15 September, Chennai
17-18 September, New Delhi |
31 participants from 19 organisations attended the Chennai programme and 33 partcipants from 11 organisations attended the New Delhi programme with faculty Mr Toru Arakava.
The objective of this program was to provide the practical methodologies designed for thoroughly eliminating waste. Through the program, the participants understood the principle of Lean production; providing only needed products in needed quantity at the time when order are just received. |

Workshop on Accreditation Criteria for Inspection Bodies as per ISO 17020
8 - 9 September, Mumbai |
CII Institute of Quality with the assistance of Quality Council of India (QCI) organized this workshop to meet the training and counselling needs in the critically important conformity assessment sector comprised of certification and inspection bodies, who play an important role in market access of Indian products in overseas markets. Their capacity building enables these bodies to meet the stringent international accreditation criteria.
The workshop aimed at generating understanding of the various management and the technical requirements for Inspection Bodies enunciated in ISO 17020. Its scope includes developing the Quality policy and objectives, developing inspection protocols, sampling procedures and documentation and requirements of NABCB Accreditation Scheme.
There were 29 participants from 15 companies. The course was conducted by the Mr. Anupam Kaul, Senior Counsellor, CII Institute of Quality & Mr Anil Jauhri, Adviser, QCI.

Workshop on Project Cost Management
22 - 23 September, New Delhi |
This workshop was organized with the objective of understanding the importance and use of techniques for Cost Estimation, Cost Budgeting & Cost Control. Participants also learnt to estimate resource requirements and durations and how to effectively utilize schedule controls to keep their projects on schedule and to control the costs of a project to complete on time.
There were 14 participants from 6 companies like Hero Honda Motors Limited, Eicher Tractors, Surya Roshni, Mayur Uniquoters . The programme was conducted by Mr M Hariharan, Consultant. |

Certificate Programme on Managing Materials Effectively

Mr Sudhir Patwardhan, Consultant conducted this programme which was attended by 9 delegates from 7 Companies.

CII Six Sigma Black Belt Certification Programme
21- 23 September, Bangalore (September 2009 - February 2010, Module – I, Batch No.11) |
Mr. M Gurunathan and Mr. Chandramouli were the delegates for this programme which was attended by 18 delegates from 10 organisations.
This programme will ensure that the Certified Black Belts will acquire the skills of Problem Solving and making Process improvements in a very scientific manner. They will be of great value to the Organisation in their Process/Design trouble-shooting and can help in making Process improvements very fast and effectively. |

- During the BB certification module, each participant will complete one process improvement project. This will ensure that the Organisation gets benefited and they get the Return on Investment. For example, if the Organisation nominates 2 people for the module, there will be Two Projects completed in the Organisation.
- In addition to the individual projects, there will also be one Project per Organisation that needs to be completed during the training Module.
- The team will be guided for effective application of the tools during the entire certification process

Laboratory Management & Internal Audit 17025

29 participants from 14 organisations attended this programme which was conducted by Mr Vivek Ghodke, Consultant, CII-IQ.
In order to establish a control on measurement system in laboratories, ISO / IEC has brought out a standard ISO/IEC 17025:05 for developing competence and carry out tests and / or calibration including sampling. This standard covers testing and calibration using standard methods, non-standard methods and laboratory development methods. This standard is applicable to first, second and third party laboratory carry out tests and / or calibration. This international standard is for use by laboratories in developing their management system for quality, administration and technical operations. |

CII-IQ in association with Pest Control India Ltd & JohnDiversey organized this workshop to benefit all stakeholders in Food Chains – Farmers, Warehousing and Transport Agencies, Food Processing Industry, Food Service Industry, Hotels and Restaurants, Food Distribution and Food Retail Chains.
The participation for the programme was from Food Processing companies like Pepsico India Holdings Pvt Ltd, Pest Control India Ltd, National Institute of Post Harvest Tech, Cargo Service Centre, ITC Ltd. There were 13 participants from 5 organisations for this programme. |

Awareness programme on Food Safety & Quality in Schools

CII Institute of Quality conducted this programme with the objective of promoting learning amongst all the stakeholders in a school environment for enabling them to develop their own “Food Safe School Plans” and implement it. This programme aimed to spread the learning’s on Food Safety, Quality, and Food & Personal Hygiene.
The sessions were structured to explain the concepts through photographs, pictorials, sketches, hands on exercises and video films for easy understanding and keeping the participants involved.
