Yi’s World Food Day Initiative

On October 16, World Food Day, Yi in the spirit of commemorating this day and to spread the message of heightening public awareness towards the world food problem and strengthening solidarity in its struggle against hunger undertook a feeding initiative across the country. Yi all across its chapters fed people from (orphanages, old age homes, municipal schools) one square meal on this day. With these initiatives Yi took a small but meaningful step as a symbolic attempt in eradicating hunger from India. With the conjoined effort of all the Yi chapters and the associated organisations across India Yi targeted feeding as many people as possible on this World Food Day. With a vision of feeding 10,000 people on this World Food Day, Yi actually spread smiles on the faces of many. In all 10947 people were fed by Yi all across India on October 16, 2009.
