The past few months have seen Yi scale up its presence with the opening of 5 new chapters in 60 days: Raipur, Visakhapatnam, Erode, Goa and Srinagar.

As a part of its deworming initiative, Yi Chandigarh initiated the second phase of the deworming campaign at the Palsora colony No 1 – Udaan AIE centres on 7 September. Yi Chandigarh started its deworming campaign in February 2009 and distributed more than a 1000 tablets to underprivileged children. The Yi Chandigarh chapter tied up with the Bharat Prakash Foundation, a partnership initiative of the Chandigarh education department. This campaign is part of Yi’s Arogya Project which aims at deworming every child in India twice every year and to free the country from infections caused due to common pathogens. On 9 September, Yi Chandigarh organised a blood donation camp at the CII office premise along with the Government Medical College & Hospital, Chandigarh. The objective of this blood donation camp was to spread awareness on how blood can save lives and on educating people about Hepatitis B – C and HIV/ AIDS virus. With an aim to make the youth raise their ethical standards & understand the impact of taxes, Yi Chandigarh on 17 September organised an awareness session on Income Tax at the Institute of Planning & Management (IIPM), Mohali. This session was primarily conducted to educate the young students on the importance of paying taxes & making them better citizens eventually.
